SVQ in Plant Operations (Construction) Level 2

Description

To achieve the SVQ Level 2 or SCQF Level 5 qualification in the candidate’s chosen skilled trade, this award enables them to apply for the NPORS or CPCS Competent Operator Card (Blue Card).

Who Should Attend?

Candidates must have passed the CSCS Health & Safety Test (within the last 24 months) and hold a current, valid CPCS Trained Operative Card (Red Card) to begin this vocational qualification.

Course Content

  • Conform to general workplace health, safety, and welfare.
  • Conform to productive work practices.
  • Prepare plant or machinery for operational performance.

 

Depending on the category of machine, select one of the following:

  • Operate plant or machinery to extract.
  • Operate plant or machinery to excavate.
  • Operate plant or machinery to construct and form.
  • Operate plant or machinery to receive and transport loads.
  • Operate plant or machinery for accessing.
  • Operate plant or machinery to lay and distribute.
  • Operate plant or machinery to compact.
  • Operate plant or machinery to process.

Knowledge

This SVQ qualification requires candidates to demonstrate their competence against a set of performance statements in a real workplace environment. They are assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor, who will support them throughout the SVQ program. Successful completion enables candidates to apply for the CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card.

To apply for the CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card, candidates must complete the Level 2 SVQ qualification.
